This genuine Ford water pump is the secondary, engine-driven auxiliary coolant pump used on the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel, cataloged by Ford as a Pump Assembly - Water. The 6.7L cooling system uses more than one pump; this unit circulates coolant through the secondary loop that serves the charge air cooler, exhaust gas recirculation cooler, and related components, keeping intake and exhaust-gas temperatures in check under load. When the pump's bearing wears or the impeller degrades, symptoms include coolant seepage from the weep hole, whining or grinding from the pump, secondary-loop overheating, and related temperature codes. This pump fits 2011 through 2022 F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks with the 6.7L Power Stroke and is a Motorcraft-quality direct replacement. Drain and capture the coolant, replace any single-use gaskets or O-rings rather than reusing them, and torque the mounting bolts evenly to Ford specification to avoid warping the housing or causing leaks. Refill with the correct Ford-specified coolant and bleed the system fully so the secondary loop is not left with trapped air.
