• Description:

  This genuine Motorcraft heater core is the HVAC heat exchanger that routes hot engine coolant through a finned core so the blower can push warm, defogging air into the cabin, and it doubles as the source of windshield defrost heat. It fits the 2002-2008 Ford F-150 new body style along with the companion Expedition, Navigator, and Lincoln Mark LT full-size platforms using the front primary HVAC system. Drivers replacing this part are usually chasing no heat or lukewarm output from the vents, a sweet coolant odor inside the cabin, greasy fogging on the inside of the windshield, damp carpet on the passenger floor, or unexplained coolant loss with no visible external leak, all classic signs of an internally corroded or split heater core. Sold under Ford's own Motorcraft service brand as catalog part NHC-14, the assembly is supplied as the heater core less housing. Because the cooling system must be opened to install it, drain, refill, and bleed the coolant to factory specification and pressure test for leaks before returning the vehicle to service.
