• Description:

  This genuine Ford engine water pump, part number 4C3Z-8501-C, is a remanufactured pump and gasket assembly for the 6.0L Power Stroke turbo diesel V8 used in Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty pickups built from 9/22/03 through the 2007 model year, plus the corresponding E-250 and E-350 Super Duty vans fitted with the same 6.0L diesel. The water pump circulates engine coolant through the block, cylinder heads, oil cooler, and EGR cooler circuits to keep the turbo diesel within its operating temperature range. A worn pump bearing, cracked impeller, or failed shaft seal shows up as coolant leaking from the front timing-cover area, a growling or whining noise from the front of the engine, coolant loss with no visible external hose leak, or an overheating engine under load or while towing. Because the 6.0L Power Stroke routes coolant through the oil cooler and EGR cooler on its way to the pump, a failing pump is frequently diagnosed alongside oil cooler and EGR cooler service, and many shops replace all three at the same time to avoid repeat labor on the front of the engine. This assembly includes the mounting gasket for a complete gasket-to-gasket installation and is supplied as a factory remanufactured core-exchange unit, so the worn pump core is returned through Ford's exchange program rather than sold as a standalone new casting.
