• Description:

  This is the genuine Ford connecting rod bolt for the 6.0L and 6.4L Power Stroke turbo diesel. The rod bolts clamp the connecting rod cap to the rod, securing the rod around the crankshaft journal and carrying the enormous combustion and inertia loads of the diesel's rotating assembly. It fits 2003 to 2010 E-350, F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 Super Duty and the Excursion, with the 6.0L diesel from 2003 to 2007 and the 6.4L from 2008 to 2010. This is a torque-to-yield, single-use fastener: it is stretched into its yield range during tightening to achieve the correct clamp load, and for that reason it must never be reused. Always install new rod bolts whenever the rod caps are disturbed, such as during a rebuild, bearing replacement, or piston and rod service; reusing a yielded bolt risks insufficient clamp load and catastrophic rod failure.
