• Description:

  This is the genuine Ford lower oil pan gasket for the 6.0L and 6.4L Power Stroke turbo diesel, included with the upper oil pan assembly in the factory parts breakdown. The gasket seals the lower oil pan to its mating surface, keeping engine oil contained in the sump and preventing leaks at the bottom of the engine. It fits 2003 to 2010 F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 Super Duty, the Excursion in earlier years and E-350, covering both the 6.0L and 6.4L diesel. The lower oil pan gasket is replaced when oil leaks at the pan rail, when the gasket hardens or is damaged, and whenever the oil pan is removed for pickup tube, pump or bottom-end service. Symptoms of a failed pan gasket include oil seepage and dripping along the pan rail, oil pooling under the engine, and oil loss over time. Installing a fresh genuine gasket restores an oil-tight seal at the pan. Replacement involves draining the oil, removing the pan, thoroughly cleaning both sealing surfaces of old gasket and sealant, fitting the new gasket, and torquing the pan fasteners evenly to specification in the correct sequence; the related upper pan gasket is typically renewed at the same time.
