• Description:

  This is the genuine Ford engine oil pump seal, a front O-ring included with the oil pump, for the 6.0L Power Stroke turbo diesel. The O-ring seals the front of the oil pump where it interfaces with the engine, keeping engine oil contained in its passage and preventing leaks at the pump. It fits 2003 to 2010 F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 Super Duty, the Excursion and E-350 with the 6.0L diesel. This seal is replaced during oil pump and front-cover service or a rebuild, and when an oil leak is traced to the pump's front sealing point. The O-ring should not be reused once the pump is disturbed and is renewed whenever the area is opened. A failed O-ring at this location can allow oil to weep from the front of the engine and contribute to low oil pressure if a leak is significant. Installing a fresh genuine O-ring restores a clean, oil-tight seal at the pump. Replacement is part of oil pump and front-cover service and requires cleaning the sealing surfaces and groove, fitting the new O-ring without twisting or pinching it, and reassembling to specification along with the related pump components.
