This is the genuine Ford low pressure oil pump cover, or body plate, with its seal kit, for the 6.0L Power Stroke turbo diesel. The cover closes the low pressure oil pump body over the gerotor set, sealing the pump so it can develop the flow and pressure that feed the engine's lubrication and the high pressure oil system. It fits 2003 to 2010 F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 Super Duty, E-350 and the Excursion with the 6.0L diesel. The cover and its seals are replaced during oil pump service or a rebuild, when the pump is leaking at the cover, or when oil pressure problems lead to pump inspection. A worn or leaking pump cover can contribute to low oil pressure and oil leaks at the front of the engine, and the seals must be renewed whenever the pump is opened. Installing a new genuine cover with fresh seals restores a properly sealed, pressure-tight pump. Replacement is part of front-cover and oil pump service and requires careful cleaning of the sealing surfaces, correct installation of the included seals, proper rotor clearance, and torque to specification. Confirm engine and model year against your VIN before ordering.
