• Description:

  This Motorcraft accessory drive belt tensioner assembly maintains constant, correct tension on the serpentine drive belt of the 6.0L Power Stroke turbo-diesel V8, keeping the belt properly loaded across the water pump, alternator, power steering pump, and other accessory pulleys as engine load and temperature change. It fits 2003-2010 Ford applications including the F-250 and F-350 Super Duty, Excursion, and E-150 through E-350 vans equipped with the 6.0L diesel engine. The spring-loaded arm and integrated idler pulley automatically compensate for belt stretch and wear, and when the internal spring weakens or the pulley bearing dries out, drivers typically notice belt squeal or chirp on start-up, visible belt flutter, rapid or uneven belt wear, a rattling or grinding noise from the front of the engine, and in severe cases a thrown belt that disables charging, cooling, and power steering.
