This is a genuine Ford oil pan gasket for 4.6L and 5.4L modular gasoline engines across a broad range of applications, including 1999 to 2007 Super Duty trucks, the F-150 and Mark LT, Mustang, Crown Victoria, Expedition and Navigator. It seals the oil pan to the engine block, keeping the engine's oil supply contained at the bottom of the engine; a hardened, torn, or improperly installed gasket causes oil leaks and low-oil concerns. This part supersedes the earlier service number for the location. The gasket is a renew-on-service item and should be replaced whenever the pan is removed, since the original takes a set. Built to Ford material specifications, it matches the factory sealing surface and bolt pattern so it seats correctly. Fitting the correct gasket restores a dry oil pan. Clean both surfaces fully, fit the gasket, follow the factory torque sequence and values, and check for leaks after refilling and warm-up.
