  This genuine Ford engine timing cover, catalogued as the front cylinder cover under part number 7L3Z-6019-B, is the cast front engine cover that seals the timing chain area and locates the front crankshaft seal on the 4.6L 2-valve V8. It fits 2004-2008 F-150 New Style and 2006-2008 Lincoln Mark LT applications. The cover encloses the timing chains, guides, and tensioners, provides the sealing surface for the crankshaft front seal and the oil pan, and carries mounting provisions for front accessory drive components, so its flatness and integrity are essential to keeping oil in and contaminants out. A cracked, warped, or corroded cover, or one with damaged sealing surfaces or stripped bolt holes, will produce persistent front-of-engine oil leaks, weeping at the crank seal, or coolant seepage that shows up as drips onto the crossmember and a low oil level between changes.
