• Description:

  This genuine Motorcraft HVAC pressure switch, Ford catalog part number YH-1705, is the air conditioning high-pressure cut-off switch that monitors refrigerant pressure on the high side of the system and signals the powertrain control module to disengage the compressor clutch if pressure climbs to an unsafe level, protecting the compressor, condenser and refrigerant hoses. It fits the newer-style Ford F-150 pickup from 2004 through 2008 and the related Lincoln Mark LT. A failed or intermittent switch commonly causes the air conditioning to stop cooling, the compressor to short-cycle or fail to engage, or a stored high-pressure fault, and drivers often notice warm vent air on hot days. The switch threads into the high-pressure line and uses a sealed electrical connector, and the Motorcraft unit is calibrated to the correct cut-off pressure for this application. Confirm the sealing O-ring is seated and that the system is properly evacuated and recharged after service to restore reliable compressor protection and cabin cooling.
