  This is the genuine Ford exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve gasket, equivalent to Motorcraft CG-740. The gasket seals the EGR valve to its mounting flange, keeping exhaust gas contained within the recirculation passage and preventing leaks where the valve meets the intake or exhaust port. It fits 2004 to 2008 F-150 New Style and Mark LT, along with Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis, E-350, Aviator, LS, Montego and Mountaineer applications that use this valve. The gasket is replaced whenever the EGR valve is removed for cleaning or replacement, since the original should not be reused, and when a leak at the valve flange causes an exhaust leak, a tick or hiss, rough idle, or EGR-related trouble codes.
