  This is the genuine Ford valve cover, also cataloged as the cylinder head cover, for the driver side or left-hand cylinder bank of the 6.8L V10 engine. The valve cover seals the top of the cylinder head over the valvetrain, keeping engine oil contained around the rocker arms, camshaft followers, and valve springs while routing crankcase ventilation and supporting ignition and wiring components. This left-hand cover fits Ford E-350 and E-450 E-Series vans and cutaway chassis with the 6.8L V10, covering roughly 2004 through 2019 production. The composite covers on these modular V10 engines can warp, crack, or lose their sealing surface after heat cycling, producing oil seepage down the block, oil pooling in the spark plug tubes, a burning-oil smell, and misfires when oil reaches the plugs.
