• Description:

  This genuine Ford valve cover is the right-hand passenger-side cam cover for the 6.8-liter Triton V10 engine used in 2005 through 2010 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty trucks and E-250 and E-350 vans. The molded cover seals the top of the cylinder head, containing engine oil around the valvetrain and routing crankcase vapors while keeping dirt and debris out. It also provides the mounting bosses and gasket surface that seal against the head. Over time heat cycling makes the cover and its gasket brittle, and a leaking or cracked valve cover shows up as oil seeping down the side of the engine, oil pooling in the spark plug wells, a burning-oil smell, misfires from oil-fouled coils or plugs, and visible residue along the head-to-cover seam. As the genuine Ford part it is molded to the correct contour with the proper bolt bosses, sealing rail, and fitting locations for the V10, so it mates precisely to the cylinder head and the ignition components without the leaks and alignment problems of substitute covers. Because this is a per-side component, confirm you are ordering the right-hand cover for the passenger bank; the driver-side cover is a separate part. Install with a fresh valve cover gasket and any required seals, clean the head sealing surface thoroughly, and torque the fasteners evenly to the factory specification in the correct sequence to avoid distorting the cover and to ensure a lasting oil-tight seal.
