• Description:

  This electric transfer case shift motor, cataloged as the motor assembly, is the actuator that engages and disengages four-wheel drive on electronic-shift Ford Super Duty trucks. Bolted to the rear of the transfer case, it drives the internal shift mechanism in response to the dash four-wheel-drive selector, moving the range and mode forks to shift between two-wheel drive, 4WD high, and 4WD low. It fits 2005-2010 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 Super Duty trucks with part-time four-wheel drive, across the 5.4L and 6.8L gas engines and the 6.0L and 6.4L Power Stroke diesels. Failure symptoms include a four-wheel-drive system that will not engage or disengage, a flashing or blinking 4x4 indicator light, grinding or clicking from the transfer case while shifting, the truck stuck in one range, or no response when the selector is pressed. Worn motor brushes, a failed encoder, or moisture intrusion are common causes. This genuine Ford motor assembly is the correct factory replacement and carries the shift-position encoder where applicable.
