  This genuine Ford Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid, also called a Purge Valve or Valve Assembly, is the electrically operated EVAP emissions solenoid that regulates the flow of fuel vapor from the charcoal canister into the intake manifold under commanded engine operating conditions. Mounted in the engine bay, it opens and closes on a duty cycle controlled by the powertrain control module to purge stored fuel vapor without upsetting the air-fuel mixture.
