This genuine Ford engine coolant thermostat kit serves the 2.3L and 2.5L Duratec four-cylinder engines used in the Escape, Fusion, Ranger, Mariner, Milan, Lincoln MKZ, and Zephyr. The kit includes the thermostat together with its housing and gasket, supplying everything needed to restore proper coolant flow control in one assembly. The thermostat regulates engine operating temperature by opening and closing as coolant warms, and a stuck or failing unit can cause overheating, slow warm-up, or poor heater performance. This part replaces the earlier 3M4Z-8575-A and 3M4Z-8575-AB. As original equipment the kit matches the factory opening temperature, housing shape, and gasket profile, so it installs and seals without modification. Replacing the thermostat as a complete housing assembly avoids reusing an aged housing or gasket that could leak. After installation, refill the cooling system with the correct coolant, bleed trapped air according to the service procedure, and verify normal operating temperature and the absence of leaks before returning the vehicle to service.
