• Description:

  This is the genuine Ford engine intake manifold gasket, listed in Ford's catalog as the Gasket - Intake Manifold, used on the modular V8 in the 2005-2006 Ford GT with the supercharged 5.4L DOHC engine and the 2007-2014 Ford Mustang with the 4.6L SOHC, supercharged 5.4L DOHC, or supercharged 5.8L DOHC V8, including the GT500. The gasket seals the joint between the intake manifold and the cylinder head, maintaining an airtight intake tract so the engine draws only metered air and, on the supercharged applications, holds boost pressure without leaking. As the gasket ages it can harden, crack, or take a set, producing a vacuum or boost leak that shows up as a rough idle, lean misfire, hissing or whistling under the manifold, loss of power or boost, and often a check engine light with lean fuel-trim codes. Technicians performing an intake manifold removal, a supercharger service, or chasing an unmetered-air leak on these engines replace this gasket as a matter of course, and one gasket is fitted to each cylinder head. Ford recommends installing a fresh gasket any time the manifold is removed rather than reusing the old one.
