  This genuine Ford actuator assembly, part number 7L2Z-9J559-A, is the electric charge-motion / intake manifold runner control actuator that operates the runner control plates inside the intake manifold on 4.6L V8 engines. It fits 2006-2010 Ford Explorer and Mercury Mountaineer, 2007-2010 Explorer Sport Trac, 2009-2014 F-150, and 2010-2014 Lincoln Mark LT applications. The actuator moves the runner control shaft to open and close the manifold's charge-motion plates, tuning intake velocity for smooth low-speed running, clean cold-start emissions, and strong throttle response across the rev range. When this actuator fails the powertrain control module logs runner control performance or range fault codes and illuminates the check engine light; drivers may feel a rough idle, hesitation or stumble off idle, reduced power, or notice the engine falling into a limp condition.
