  This is the genuine Ford side marker lamp assembly for the 2007-2010 Lincoln MKX, the passenger side unit that mounts into the forward body panel and provides the side-facing conspicuity light required by federal lighting regulations. Its purpose is to make the vehicle visible from the side at night and in poor weather, particularly at intersections and when pulling out of driveways, and on this application it works together with the front park and turn lighting. The assembly comprises the lens, housing, and socket, and it is serviced as a complete unit.
