  This genuine Ford window regulator raises and lowers the rear driver side door glass, converting the motor's drive into smooth vertical travel of the window along its guide channel. The regulator's cable drum, lift arm and rails keep the glass square in the frame so it seats fully against the weatherstrip for a tight, quiet seal. When the original regulator fails, the cables fray or unspool, the plastic slider cracks, and the window drops into the door, jams partway, moves crookedly, or produces grinding and clunking sounds when the switch is pressed. A worn regulator can also leave the glass unable to close, exposing the cabin to weather and theft.
