• Description:

  This is a genuine Ford lower thermostat housing gasket for the left-lower position and the companion to the right-lower gasket, on 4.6L, 5.4L and 6.8L modular gasoline engines in F-150, F-350 and F-550 Super Duty, Mark LT and Navigator, applicable to the build to the 09/15/2004 production point. It seals the lower thermostat housing, keeping coolant contained at that joint; the gasket is included with the lower housing service and a leak here causes coolant seepage and possible overheating. The gasket is a renew-on-service item and should be replaced whenever the housing is opened, since the original takes a set. It supersedes earlier suffixes for the location. Built to Ford material specifications, it matches the factory sealing surface for the left-lower position so it seats correctly. Fitting the correct gasket restores a sealed housing. Confirm the position and build date, clean the surfaces, torque the housing in sequence, then refill, bleed, and check for leaks.
