• Description:

  This is the genuine Ford engine oil pump pickup tube gasket, an O-ring also used as a screen gasket, for the 6.4L Power Stroke turbo diesel. The O-ring seals the oil pickup tube where it connects to the oil pump or screen, keeping the suction side of the lubrication system sealed so the pump draws oil without picking up air. It fits 2008 to 2010 F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 Super Duty with the 6.4L diesel. This seal is replaced during oil pan, oil pump or pickup tube service and during a rebuild, and it should not be reused once disturbed. A failed pickup tube O-ring can allow the pump to draw air, leading to low or erratic oil pressure and inadequate lubrication, a serious condition that warrants prompt attention. Installing a fresh genuine O-ring restores a sealed, air-tight suction connection. Replacement is part of bottom-end service and requires cleaning the sealing surfaces and groove, fitting the new O-ring without twisting or pinching it, and securing the pickup tube to specification.
