• Description:

  This is the genuine Ford lower automatic transmission mount for the 2008-2011 Ford Focus with the 2.0L Duratec engine and automatic transaxle. The mount is the rubber-and-steel insulator that ties the lower portion of the transaxle to the subframe, absorbing driveline torque and engine vibration so it is not transmitted into the body and cabin. As the rubber ages it softens, cracks, delaminates, or collapses, allowing the powertrain to shift excessively on its mounts. Drivers typically notice a heavy clunk or bang when shifting into drive or reverse, a shudder on acceleration, buzzing or droning vibration felt through the floor at idle, and increased engine movement under load. A failed lower mount can also stress the remaining mounts and the axle shafts. This OEM insulator is built to the original Ford durometer and bracket geometry so it locates correctly on the factory bolt pattern and restores the engineered isolation, quieting the driveline and stabilizing engine position. It is the lower-position mount and works together with the upper mount and roll restrictor; inspecting all mounts as a group is good practice, since a single collapsed mount accelerates wear on the others. Torque the fasteners to Ford specification during installation and support the transaxle while the old mount is removed so the driveline is not left hanging.
