• Description:

  This is the genuine Ford upper automatic transmission mount for the 2008-2011 Ford Focus with the 2.0L Duratec engine and automatic transaxle, cataloged by Ford within the transmission extension housing mount family. It is the rubber-isolated bracket that supports the upper side of the transaxle against the body, controlling powertrain rock and damping the vibration and torque reaction that would otherwise reach the cabin. When the rubber perishes, tears, or separates from its steel core, the transaxle is allowed to move too far on its remaining supports. Typical symptoms include a pronounced clunk or thud when engaging drive or reverse, a jolt felt on gear changes, engine and transaxle shudder under acceleration, and a persistent vibration or droning noise at idle transmitted through the floor. Left unaddressed, a worn upper mount overloads the lower mount and roll restrictor and can accelerate axle-shaft and bracket wear. This OEM mount is manufactured to the original Ford rubber durometer and bracket geometry so it aligns with the factory bolt pattern and restores the engineered driveline isolation and correct engine position. It pairs with the lower mount, and inspecting the full mount set together is recommended because one failed insulator quickly wears the rest.
