• Description:

  This is the genuine Ford drive shaft center support bearing for the two-piece rear propeller shaft used on 2008-2017 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty trucks. The center support bearing carries the midpoint of a two-section driveshaft, holding a sealed ball bearing inside a rubber-cushioned carrier that bolts to the frame crossmember, isolating driveline vibration while letting the shaft spin freely at road speed. Buyers replacing this part are usually experiencing a droning or rumbling noise that rises with vehicle speed, a heavy vibration felt through the floor during acceleration, a clunk on take-off, or visible cracking and separation of the rubber isolator that lets the shaft sag and run out of alignment. A worn center bearing left in service will damage the U-joints and slip yoke, so it should be replaced as soon as the noise or vibration appears. This assembly consists of the sealed bearing pressed into its rubber insulator carrier with the mounting bracket ears. It carries Ford catalog base 4800 as the Drive Shaft Center Support Bearing and supersedes earlier 7C3Z-4800 service numbers for the same driveline, with fitment also extending to Lincoln and Mercury variants sharing this rear-drive platform.
