This genuine Ford front insulator is the rubber-and-metal isolator that cushions the differential and axle support against the vehicle subframe or crossmember on all-wheel-drive models, absorbing driveline torque and vibration so it is not transmitted into the cabin. Ford also catalogs it as a differential mount, differential housing insulator, or axle support bushing under base number 4B424, and it is included with the suspension crossmember assembly. It fits 2008-2019 all-wheel-drive Ford Edge, Explorer, Flex, Fusion, Taurus, and Taurus X models along with the Lincoln MKS, MKT, and MKX and the Police Interceptor Utility. When this insulator wears, cracks, or collapses, the differential is allowed to shift under load, producing symptoms such as a clunk or thump during acceleration and deceleration, driveline vibration felt through the floor, and a shudder when engaging drive. Replacing a deteriorated mount with the genuine Ford part restores correct differential positioning and quiet, isolated operation.
