• Description:

  This genuine Ford cabin air temperature sensor is the in-car aspirator sensor used by the automatic climate control system across a wide family of Ford platform vehicles: the 2008-2019 Taurus, 2009-2019 Flex, 2011-2012 Explorer, 2008-2009 Taurus X, Lincoln MKS and MKT, Mercury Sable, and the 2019 Police Interceptor Sedan. Ford lists it as a Sensor Assy. Mounted behind the dash, often near an aspirator tube that draws a small stream of interior air across the thermistor, it continuously measures the temperature inside the cabin and reports it to the climate control module. The module compares that reading to the temperature the occupant selected and then modulates blower speed, blend-door position, and compressor operation to reach and hold the target setting. When the sensor drifts, opens, or shorts, the automatic system loses its reference and the driver notices the climate control blowing too hot or too cold for the setting, air temperature that swings without reason, a fan that ramps up or down on its own, or defrost and auto modes that behave erratically.
