  This Genuine Ford Seal, Ford catalog name Seal - Body Side Panel, part number 9L3Z-15101C36-A, is a body sealing plug used on the 2009-2014 Ford F-150 in Regular Cab, SuperCab, and SuperCrew configurations. It seals an opening in the sheet metal of the body side panel, keeping water, dust, road spray, and drafts out of the cab and closing off an access or drain hole left in the stamping during assembly. Made of molded rubber, it presses into the panel hole and grips the surrounding metal to form a weather-tight closure. Owners and restorers replace these seals when the original rubber has hardened, cracked, shrunk, or fallen out, which can let water, exhaust, and dust enter the cab, create wind noise, or allow moisture to reach areas that then begin to corrode.
