• Description:

  This is a genuine Ford limited-slip differential clutch disc set, Ford catalog name Clutch Disc Set, for the 2009-2014 F-150 built with the 8.8-inch rear axle and the Traction-Lok limited-slip differential (without electronic locking). The clutch discs and plates stack inside the differential case and are preloaded by a spring; they permit controlled slip between the two rear wheels during cornering while sending torque to the wheel with grip whenever the opposite tire begins to spin. As miles accumulate the friction material wears and the plates glaze, which shows up as a chattering or shuddering from the rear end on tight low-speed turns, a limited-slip that no longer bites and lets one wheel spin freely on loose ground, or a differential grown noisy under load. Refreshing the clutch pack with the correct genuine Ford friction and steel discs restores proper torque bias and quiets the chatter. It must match the 8.8-inch axle and the limited-slip carrier and is not for electronic-locking axles.
