• Description:

  This genuine Motorcraft sunroof motor is the electric drive motor that opens, closes, tilts, and vents the power moonroof glass on the 2009-2017 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator. It drives the sunroof cable mechanism and provides the position sensing that lets the module track glass travel and enforce the auto-open and one-touch functions. When this motor fails, the sunroof may stop partway, refuse to move, move slowly or noisily, chatter, or lose its one-touch and auto features so it only works while you hold the switch, and in some cases a stuck or leaking sunroof follows. As a Ford OEM Motorcraft component, the motor matches the original gear ratio, drive spline, and connector so it engages the factory cable and glass mechanism correctly and works with the existing control module. After installing, the sunroof usually needs to be re-initialized or recalibrated following the Ford procedure so the module relearns the fully open and closed stops. Confirm the glass tracks and cables move freely and lubricate the mechanism before fitting the new motor, since a binding track is a common cause of premature motor failure.
