This is a genuine Motorcraft HVAC blend door actuator fitting 2009-2014 Ford F-150, 2010-2017 Ford Expedition, and Lincoln Navigator models. The blend door actuator is an electric geared motor mounted on the HVAC case that positions the temperature blend door, controlling how much air flows over the heater core to set cabin discharge temperature; on automatic temperature control systems it also reports door position back to the climate module. Common failure symptoms include a persistent clicking or knocking sound behind the dash, temperature stuck on hot or cold, one zone not matching the other on dual-zone systems, and vents that ignore temperature changes.
