• Description:

  This is a genuine Ford rear leaf spring insulator, also cataloged by Ford as a Mount Plate Pad and U-bolt spacer, for the 2009-2025 F-150. It sits in the rear suspension between the leaf spring pack and the axle spring seat, positioning the spring on the axle and cushioning the metal-to-metal interface while the U-bolts clamp the spring, pad, and axle together as a unit. By isolating the spring from the axle it damps noise and vibration reaching the cab and helps set correct spring alignment and ride height. A worn, cracked, crushed, or missing pad lets the spring shift or contact the axle directly, which typically shows up as a squeak, creak, or clunk from the rear over bumps and during braking or acceleration, and can accelerate wear on the spring and U-bolts.
