  This genuine Ford hood stop bumper, also listed as a hood stop buffer, is the adjustable rubber cushion the hood rests on when closed on the 2010-2014 F-150. Mounted at the passenger-side right-hand front corner of the engine bay, it sets the closed hood height, keeps the hood from rattling or vibrating against the sheet metal, and helps the hood sit flush and even with the fenders and grille. Over time the rubber compresses, cracks, or falls out entirely, which lets the hood chatter over bumps, sit low or uneven, or transmit a metallic tap at the corner. Replacing the worn bumper restores a tight, quiet hood fit and lets you re-level the hood to the surrounding panels. It threads into the factory location and can be turned up or down to fine-tune hood height.
