  This genuine Ford hose is the engine coolant overflow, or reservoir, hose for the 2010-2014 Shelby GT500 Mustang with the supercharged 5.4L and 5.8L V8. It connects the coolant expansion and overflow reservoir into the cooling circuit, carrying coolant and vapor between the reservoir and the engine so the system can vent air, take up expansion as the coolant heats, and draw coolant back down as it cools. On the high-output supercharged GT500 the cooling system runs hard, and the molded hose can swell, crack, chafe or seep at its connections with age and heat cycling, which shows up as low coolant, a sweet smell, drips near the reservoir, or overheating during spirited driving.
