  This genuine Ford intake manifold gasket seals the driver-side (left-hand) cylinder head-to-intake-manifold joint on the 5.4L V8 engine used in Ford E-150, E-250, and E-350 Econoline vans built from the October 5, 2009 running change through the 2016 model year. The gasket forms the air-tight seal between the lower intake manifold and the cylinder head port face, keeping metered intake air and manifold vacuum contained so the engine can maintain the proper air-fuel ratio and a stable idle. A failed or hardened intake manifold gasket is a frequent cause of vacuum leaks, and drivers typically experience a rough or surging idle, a lit check-engine light with lean-condition or misfire codes, a hissing noise from the top of the engine, hard starting, or a hesitation under light throttle. Coolant or oil seepage around the manifold can also appear as the gasket ages and the carrier hardens.
