This genuine Motorcraft HVAC blower motor control module, Ford catalog part number YH-1828, provides variable speed control for the climate-system blower on automatic air conditioning by using pulse-width modulation to smoothly vary fan speed rather than switching through fixed resistor steps. It is used from 2010 through 2019 on Ford Super Duty F-250 and F-350 trucks, including auxiliary HVAC applications, and on the Ford Flex and Lincoln MKT crossovers built through mid-2016. When this module fails the blower may run at full speed constantly, stop working entirely, or cut out intermittently regardless of the fan setting, and the automatic climate system may lose its ability to modulate airflow. The module mounts in the blower housing so cooling air passes over its heat sink, and a failure can be triggered by a binding blower motor pulling excessive current, so verify the motor turns freely when servicing. Fitting this Motorcraft control module restores smooth, fully variable fan operation.
