• Description:

  This is the genuine Motorcraft mass air flow (MAF) sensor, part number AFLS-165, fitted to 2010-2020 Ford F-150 pickups and 2013-2019 Ford Explorer models among other applications in the 2010-2022 gasoline range. The hot-film sensing element sits in the intake duct after the air filter and measures the mass of air flowing into the engine, sending that signal to the powertrain control module so fueling, spark and boost are trimmed correctly on the naturally aspirated and EcoBoost engines these vehicles use. A buyer typically needs this sensor when a stored P0101, P0102 or P0103 code appears, when the vehicle idles roughly, surges, hesitates, goes into a reduced-power state, or shows a check engine light with poor fuel economy after the airflow reading has drifted from oil, dust or age. Cleaning a fouled element is often only a temporary fix, so a genuine Motorcraft unit restores the accurate airflow measurement the PCM expects and returns factory throttle response. As the OEM-calibrated sensor for these platforms, it uses the original connector and snaps into the factory housing without adapters or reflashing. Verify the engine and housing on your vehicle, since neighboring model years use closely related but distinct sensor calibrations.
