This Genuine Ford turbocharger assembly, Ford part number CL3Z-6K682-D, is the passenger-side (right-hand) turbo for 2011-2012 Ford F-150 trucks with the 3.5L EcoBoost twin-turbo V6. Mounted to the exhaust manifold, it uses exhaust energy to spin a turbine that drives a compressor wheel, forcing pressurized intake air into the engine to deliver the EcoBoost's boosted power and torque. This RH unit works together with its driver-side counterpart in the twin-turbo system. Symptoms of a failing turbocharger include loss of boost and power, excessive exhaust smoke, whining, whistling, or grinding noises, oil in the charge piping, blue smoke from oil-seal failure, and boost-related trouble codes with an illuminated check engine light. Shaft play, wastegate faults, and worn center bearings are common failure modes. Installation should include fresh oil feed and drain connections, correct turbo clocking, and priming of the bearing housing to prevent a dry startup.
