  This genuine Ford mount is the automatic transmission mount insulator that supports the transaxle and isolates its vibration from the body on 2.5L Fusion-platform cars. It fits 2011 and 2012 Ford Fusion, 2011 and 2012 Lincoln MKZ, and 2011 Mercury Milan equipped with the 4-cylinder 2.5L gas and gas-electric hybrid powertrain. The mount combines a rubber, and on some applications hydraulic, isolator between a metal bracket and the subframe to cushion engine and transmission movement under acceleration, braking, and gear engagement. When the isolator's rubber cracks, separates, or the hydraulic fluid leaks out, drivers feel increased vibration through the floor and steering, hear clunks or thumps when shifting into drive or reverse or when lifting off the throttle, and may notice the powertrain rocking excessively. A collapsed or torn mount lets the transaxle shift on its perch, which can stress the remaining mounts and axles and worsen driveline noise. Installing a fresh genuine mount restores correct powertrain positioning and quiet, isolated operation. Installation requires safely supporting the transaxle, removing the fasteners at the bracket and subframe, and swapping the insulator while keeping the powertrain aligned; snug all mounts and then final-torque with the weight settled so the isolator is not preloaded.
