This genuine Ford lower radiator coolant hose routes engine coolant on the 2011 through 2014 Ford Mustang equipped with the 3.7L V6 engine. Cataloged by Ford as a radiator hose and lower hose, this pre-formed molded EPDM rubber hose carries cooled coolant from the bottom of the radiator back to the water pump inlet, keeping the cooling system sealed and flowing at operating temperature and pressure. Over years of heat cycling the rubber hardens, cracks, swells, or softens internally, and the ends can weep or blow off under pressure, leading to coolant loss, low-coolant warnings, overheating, steam or sweet odor, and puddles beneath the front of the car. A collapsing lower hose can also starve the pump at high rpm. Fitting the correct molded hose restores reliable coolant flow and a proper seal. This is the lower hose for the 3.7L V6 application, so confirm your engine. Replace the clamps if worn, refill with the specified Ford coolant, and bleed all air from the system after installation.
