  This genuine Ford shock absorber assembly, cataloged as Shock Absorber Assy, is the rear suspension damper for 2011-2014 Ford Mustang across the 3.7L V6 and 5.0L V8 models. Working with the rear coil springs on the Mustang's solid rear axle, it dampens spring oscillation to keep the rear tires planted, controlling body motion over bumps, dips, and during cornering, braking, and acceleration so the car stays composed and predictable. A worn or leaking rear shock reveals itself through a bouncy or floaty rear end that continues to oscillate after a bump, excessive body roll or squat, rear-end wallow over uneven pavement, clunking or knocking from the rear, uneven or cupped rear tire wear, and reduced stability and braking control.
