  This is a genuine Motorcraft power steering reservoir hose, cataloged by Ford as the hose assembly from reservoir to pump, for 2011-2016 F-250 and F-350 Super Duty trucks with the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel and hydroboost brake assist. The hose carries low-pressure power steering fluid from the reservoir supply to the steering pump, feeding the pump and, on hydroboost systems, the shared circuit that provides brake assist. Because it is a low-pressure supply line, a failure usually shows as seeping or dripping fluid at the crimped fittings or a softened, swollen hose, a persistently low reservoir level, a whining pump drawing air, or hard steering and a firm brake pedal when the pump is starved. Replacing an aged supply hose restores a sealed, air-free feed and prevents fluid loss that can damage the pump. Install with fresh, correct-specification power steering fluid, route the hose clear of hot exhaust and moving parts, and bleed the system by cycling the steering lock to lock.
