  This Genuine Ford cap is the threaded fuel filter housing cap used on the 6.7L Power Stroke turbo diesel fuel filtration system, sealing the top of the fuel filter housing and retaining the filter element while maintaining a pressure tight seal against fuel weepage. It fits 2011-2016 Ford F-250 F-350 F-450 and F-550 Super Duty trucks equipped with the 6.7L diesel engine and includes the sealing pad so the correct seal is renewed along with the cap. The 6.7L diesel uses a two stage fuel filter system, and a cracked, warped, or over torqued cap is a common source of air intrusion and slow fuel seepage that leads to hard starting, extended cranking, rough running, loss of power, and a diesel odor around the filter housing. Stripped or broken hex points from prior over tightening or use of the wrong tool are another frequent reason for replacement. Installing a fresh cap with an intact seal restores a leak free, air tight fuel circuit so the injection system can build and hold pressure. This is the original equipment Ford part with the correct thread pitch and seal geometry for the Power Stroke filter housing; tighten it to the specified value with hand tools only to avoid cracking the cap or distorting the seal.
