This is a genuine Ford inter-cooler pipe retainer clip, also cataloged as an Outlet Duct Retainer Clip and Clip Hose, used on the charge-air intercooler cooler plumbing of 2011 through 2016 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks with the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel engine. This small spring-steel clip locks the quick-connect outlet duct to the charge-air cooler, holding the boosted-air pipe securely so it cannot blow off under turbo boost pressure. It is normally supplied with the outlet duct. Owners replace this clip when it is bent, corroded, fatigued, or was damaged during removal, or when a charge-air leak, boost loss, whistling under acceleration, or a related diagnostic code traces back to a pipe that will not stay seated. Using the correct genuine Ford clip restores proper retention of the intercooler pipe and helps prevent repeat boost leaks. Inspect the mating duct and seal while the connection is apart, and make sure the clip fully engages and clicks into place so the coupler is locked before returning the truck to service.
