The unit supersedes BC3Z-10346-A and BC3Z-10346-D, consolidating the production-level revisions into one current dealer-stocked service part. The 200-amp rating is what these trucks need to support the diesel glow plug current draw, the auxiliary electrical loads of work-truck upfits, and accessory loads on long idle cycles common in commercial use. When the alternator fails the symptoms range from low battery voltage at idle with accessories running through to outright no-charge once the regulator gives out.
