• Description:

  This genuine Ford bracket is the upper support bracket for the charge air cooler, also called the intercooler, on the 3.5L EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 in the 2011-2017 F-150. On the EcoBoost engine the intercooler sits at the front of the vehicle and cools the compressed intake air before it reaches the engine, and this bracket secures the upper mounting point of that cooler to the front structure so it stays located and does not vibrate against surrounding components. Because it is specific to the 3.5L EcoBoost application, it is not the same as a plain radiator support bracket, and a buyer whose bracket is bent, corroded, or cracked will notice the intercooler shifting, rattling, or contacting the fan shroud or radiator, sometimes with a rubbing noise over bumps. Ford lists this as the upper bracket for the 3.5L EcoBoost charge air cooler, with the 2011-2012 and 2013-2014 model splits sharing this part and coverage continuing through 2017. Install it with the cooler properly aligned so the charge pipes and hoses meet their connections without strain, and torque the fasteners so the cooler is held firmly without distorting the mounting tabs.
