This genuine Ford clutch flywheel is the machined steel wheel that bolts to the rear of the crankshaft and provides the friction surface for the clutch disc, the ring gear for the starter to engage, and rotating mass to smooth engine pulses and aid smooth launches in a manual-transmission car. It fits 2011-2017 Ford Mustang GT with the 5.0L Coyote V8 and manual transmission, without the Boss 302, and is supplied complete with the flywheel ring gear. Drivers who need this part typically have a slipping or chattering clutch, a hot-spotted, scored, cracked, or heat-checked friction face, a worn or damaged starter ring gear that grinds or fails to engage, or vibration and a burnt smell after high-load use or a clutch run past its service life. A glazed or warped flywheel face prevents the new clutch from seating and transferring power cleanly. Cataloged by Ford as the Clutch Flywheel, this is the correct 5.0L GT manual-transmission unit; always resurface within Ford's minimum-thickness spec or replace, and install a new clutch disc, pressure plate, and pilot and throwout bearings at the same time.
