Genuine Ford cruise control switch, Ford catalog name Switch Assembly Control, Motorcraft SW-6821, for 2011-2019 Explorer and 2011-2015 Edge, the left side steering wheel switch module that is serviced with and mounts to the steering wheel. It houses the speed control buttons that set, resume, accelerate, coast and cancel cruise, sending momentary signals to the vehicle cruise control system. Common failure symptoms include cruise control that will not engage or hold speed, buttons that respond intermittently or feel mushy, the set speed cutting out unexpectedly, or a dead switch face, all pointing to worn button contacts inside the assembly. Built to original Ford fit, feel and electrical specification, this switch plugs into the factory connector for a direct replacement of a cracked, sticky or non functioning original. Confirm the switch position and button graphics match your steering wheel, as Explorer and Edge used left and right switch modules with different functions before installing.
