This genuine Motorcraft front lower control arm is the driver-side, left-hand lower suspension link that locates the bottom of the wheel assembly and carries a large share of the cornering and braking loads on the front suspension. It is supplied complete with the lower ball joint and bushings preinstalled, restoring both the frame pivots and the knuckle connection in a single part. Fitment covers 2011-2019 Ford Explorer models with this suspension design. A worn lower control arm shows up as clunking or rattling over bumps, a loose or wandering feel in the steering, uneven or feathered tire wear, vibration, and an alignment that will not hold. Because the ball joint is built into the arm, a worn joint or torn boot means replacing the arm as a complete assembly. This Motorcraft arm is engineered to factory geometry, bushing stiffness, and ball-joint tolerance for correct ride quality and predictable handling. A wheel alignment is required after installation, and all fasteners should be tightened to Ford specification with the suspension loaded. Inspect the matching right-hand arm and replace it if it shows similar wear.
